CISM RDC America connects events as try out for the 5th Military World Games
Since 2009 the RDC Americas with the support from CISM has organized four clinics: Volleyball in 2009, Orienteering, Taekwondo and Modern Pentathlon in 2010.
The events became a great success because, beyond the improvement of the technical level of the athletes and coaches, it spread the real sense of the Olympic Spirit and the motto Friendship through Sports.
For 2011, CISM is directing all efforts to have 110 countries in Rio to take part in the 5th Military World Games, and will no be able to financially support the RDC activities. Even thought the RDC Americas will still working.
According to their plan, it is schedule the following activities for this year:
- Naval Pentathlon Clinic - 23 to 30 Apr 2011
- Swimming Clinic – 16 to 23 Oct 2011
- Military Pentathlon – 6 to 13 Nov 2011
Already in 2011, Brazil organized 1st International Tournament of Naval Pentathlon From 19 to 27 Feb 2011, which took place in the Navy Physical Education Centre, Rio de Janeiro. The event counts on the participation of Brazil, Finland, Norway and Sweden and was considered the 1st try out for naval pentathlon for the 5th CISM Military World Games.
The new venue of Naval Pentathlon especially built for the Peace Games was considered the fastest and modern in the World, by the athletes.
Now, intending to give the best opportunity to all athletes which will take part in the Games, as well as to develop this important military discipline within America, the RDC is organizing the 1st Naval Pentathlon Clinic from 23 to 30 Apr 2011. Click here to download the invitation file.
