Guinea -“Open the Gates and let's get the children to play in the barracks sports facilities”
Guinea Delegation and CISM agreed to run the Open the Gates project in 5 different cities and starting its activity with 200 children.
The aim of the project, which is partially funded by FIFA, is to make possible the practice of football for less privileged children from 7 to 17 years old, who leave on the neighbourhood of the barracks.
During three months the children will learn more about the team spirit, discipline, cooperation, loyalty, sense of responsibility and above all, share mutual understanding and human relationships under CISM motto: Friendship through Sports.
Besides CISM and FIFA other local partners are going to be involved such as: the Guinea Armed Forces, the local Olympic Committee and the Guinea football Federation. Government Institutions are also in the core business of the project like the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Sports and the Ministry of Information. Each of them will provide specific knowledge and goods to smoothly run the project and join the other stakeholders to achieve the best results.
The Opening Ceremony counted on the presence of the Chief of State Maj General Nouhou Thiam who addressed the audience saying that this project is unscripted under civilian-military relationship and will be very important to rebuild the sports activities within Guinea Armed Forces.
The project will run until the end of September when children will be back to school in Guinea. By this time, a profit period of civic instructions, education and peace will be transmitted to those children by using sport and CISM message as the main vector.

Le délégation guinéenne et le CISM se sont mis d’accord pour mettre en place le projet «Ouvrir les barrières» dans cinq villes différentes avec 200 enfants.
Le but de ce projet qui a été créé en partie par la FIFA est de rendre possible la pratique du football aux enfants défavorisés de 7 à 17 ans qui vivent à proximité des casernes.
Pendant trois mois, les enfants vont apprendre l’esprit d’équipe, la discipline, la coopération, la loyauté, le sens des responsabilités et par dessus tout partager la compréhension mutuelle et les relations humaines selon le slogan du CISM : Amitié par le sport.
A côté du CISM et de la FIFA, d’autres partenaires vont s’impliquer dans ce projet comme les forces armées guinéenne, le comité national olympique et la fédération guinéenne de football. D’autres institutions gouvernementales vont aussi rejoindre le projet comme le Ministère de l’éducation, le Ministère des sports et le Ministère de l’information. Chacun fournira la connaissance spécifique et des produits pour exécuter le projet et rejoindre les autres parties prenantes pour obtenir de meilleurs résultats.
La cérémonie d’ouverture s’est tenue en présence du chef d’état-major des armées, le général Nouhou Thiam qui s’est adressé au public en disant que ce projet se réalise grâce à la coopération en le monde militaire et le monde civil et qu’il est important pour remettre en place des activités sportives au sein des forces armées guinéennes.
Le projet prendra fin avec la rentrée scolaire qui est prévue à la fin septembre en Guinée. Pendant cette période, les enfants recevront des valeurs d’instruction civique, d’enseignement et la paix sera transmise à ces enfants en utilisant le sport et le message CISM comme le vecteur principal.
