A crowded room with a very warmly audience to encourage its troops, here is in some words the atmosphere which reigned in the brand new sport center of the national police academy of Danilovgrad for the final of the 4th edition of the CISM Futsal Cup for peace who set Montenegro and Bosnia Herzegovi. Among the guest, there are admiral Samardzic, general chief of staff of Montenegro and two CISM General Secretaries, colonel Michel Van Meurs, initiator of the project and colonel Alexandre Morisod, his successor.
From the whistle liberator, the two teams were completely engaged in the battle and attacks followed one another from part and the others. There was no break. Bosnia stood up to the favorites and she allowed even to open the score. But, on the following attack, Montenegro returned to the score. Bosnia pursued its offensives and its efforts were rewarded by a 2nd purpose. The local team encouraged well by their numerous supporters started up again with renewed vigor. They earthed up on a defense and an unrelenting goalkeeper. Due to pushing, the defense opponent eventually gave up to 2 occasions of which one just before the break. The first half was of excellent invoice, what was not at all the case of second. The level and the intensity had fallen again. The dangerous actions were rare. On one of them, Montenegro accentuated the distance 4-2. Unless 5mn before the end, Bosnia tries to reduce its delay by playing without goalkeeper. It was the wrong move because a few seconds later, on an error of inattention, the 5th goal was marked. Montenegro held finally the first victory in this tournament. At the end of the match, the players were warmly congratulated by the admiral and the other Montenegrin authorities.

CISM FUTSAL CUP FOR PEACE Based on the initiative taken by the former CISM Secretary General, colonel Michel Van Meurs, the Serbian Delegation to CISM organized the first ‘Friendly Sports’ event, in Belgrade, September 2006, between the former Republics of Yugoslavia. This project was started in order to smooth a fixed differences and disputes among the concerned nations and counted on the participation of Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Macedonia and Montenegro. Slovenia and Croatia did not take part, because it was not included in their annual plan. The dimensioned project gave huge contribution to friendship among Armed Forces of above mentioned countries.
Dutch Embassy in Belgrade was the donor of the event. A sports discipline which was included in this project was shooting-rifle and cross country 4km. The project was realized with presence of the highest authorities from the Ministry of Defense of Republic of Serbia, as well as the CISM Secretary General. The athletes attained good results and friendship has won.
After postponing the same event in 2008, the all six nations, during the CISM European conference in the Belgrade, on November 2008, decided to continue the project with a new discipline: FUTSAL.
Due to that, since 2009 the CISM Futsal Cup for Peace has been organized. Nowadays, this event is a six-year project, based on the principle of mutual understanding, and aimed at enhancing the peace-restoring effort among the six countries involved: Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Macedonia and Montenegro.
The success of the project was already been internationally recognized. In 2009, in Monaco, the CISM Futsal Cup for Peace was one of the nominees’ projects for ‘The Peace and Sport Awards 2009’, which was conducted by Peace and Sport, l’Organisation pour la Paix par le Sport, under the high patronage of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco.
In 2010, the event was organized by Croatian Delegation to CISM and counted on with all 6 nations. Once more the success of the project reinforced CISM devotion to promote peace through sports worldwide. Herewith it is presented an overview of each edition.
