The first edition of the CISM World Cadet Games 2010 in on!

For quite a long period, CISM has launched several ideas to open its sports competitions to new categories of participants from the Military world.  After the success of the Summer and Winter Military World Games, CISM decided to create a new category of international sports competitions opened to the young generations of the military personnel of the world. CISM has come to know that quite a number of its member nations have initiated programs of exchanges of cadets with their neighbors of privileged partners. We have received quite a number of official requests in this sense. Many CISM Member Nations are asking us to play a leading role in the development of sports programs for the cadets of their military academies, and we could not remain deaf to these demands. CISM decided to give to all its member nations an equal opportunity to benefit from these Cadets meetings by availing its network, its know-how and experience to this endeavor.  

So were born the CISM World Cadets Games!

The CISM World Cadet Games are an international multi sports competition organized every four years opened to the current military students / cadets of Land Force Academies, Naval Academies, Air Force Academies, and Other Military Academies (Gendarmerie, etc). CISM committed itself to give a special meaning to the event; to deeply connect the event to a specific educational concept. Workshops, forums, educational seminars will be integrated in each edition of the CISM World Cadet Games to offer to all the participants the possibility to exchange some concepts of military training, to inspire and get inspired by the programs of other military academies, to acquire valuable theories that they will use for their future commitments…to sum-up…to become better cadets, better soldiers and better military leaders.

The Turkish Armed Forces were entrusted with the organization of the 1st CISM World Cadet Games which will be organized from 17 to 24 October 2010 at the Turkish Military Academy located in Ankara. The following sports were selected as modalities of the 1st CISM World Cadet Games 2010: Shooting,  Track & Field, Orienteering, Volleyball, Obstacle Run and Obstacle Swimming
