The CISM overall fair-play trophy is presented to an athlete, a team, or a nation which, during one ore more CISM championships, demonstrated an exemplary spirit of friendship and sportsmanship. This trophy is attributed on the basis of exceptional merit and not automatically every year. The trophy is presented during the General Assembly by the CISM President to the Chief of Delegation of the athlete, team or nation concerned.
The athlete, team, or nation awarded with this trophy can be recommended to the international fair-play commission.

Canada : During the Triathlon competition at the 1st MWG in Rome, the female Canadian team was placed first due to an error. The team members gave back her gold medals to the actual world champion team showing exemplary fair-play and good attitude.
